How Vijay Dairy Fights Against Dairy Product Contamination and Adulteration

Dairy Product Contamination

From the morning cup of chai to the sweets shared during festivals, milk, paneer, mava, and desserts have always been a part of everyday life in India.

But recently, these everyday staples have faced an alarming rise in dairy product contamination. While the research data is worrisome.

The Five-Year Snapshot of India’s Dairy Product Safety Concerns

The five-year research reports on Indian dairy product contamination and adulteration are eye-opening.

Why does adulteration in dairy products happen?

Adulteration in food usually doesn’t happen by mistake; it’s often done to save money, even if it risks people’s health.
Sometimes, water, chemicals, or other inexpensive substances are mixed into milk or other products to produce a larger quantity at a lower cost.

Bright, non-food-safe colours are added to sweets to make them look more attractive during Indian festivals.

Weak checking systems mean these harmful products can reach the market without being caught.

Poor storage and lack of proper refrigeration also cause food to spoil, leading some sellers to add prohibited preservatives or chemicals to make it last longer.
